Yes, it's been a long, long time...

And despite the galacticly huge volume of things that have happened to me and mine since the last time I posted, I felt the need to post this.

Let me start with a question.

What is a community? What brings people together?

I posit that it is the willingness and ability to share an emergency with your neighbors.

I could go on a long winded diatribe about what has happened around here since the blizzard yesterday, but I won't. I won't do it because, in general, it's a story that several tens of thousands of folks can repeat from their own viewpoint, and have just as much content, whether it be vitriolic or pastoral, yet it will be the same story.

What I will talk about, though, is how...even in today's society of suburban sprawl and anonymity, that sometimes, just sometimes, neighbors can become, well..neighbors...and help each other for no other reason than they are...well...neighbors.

If I wasn't go goddamned tired, I could write more right now....but I am, and I can't. In a nutshell, I love all of you who checked in on me, and all of you who didn't.

So, if nothing else, we should learn that it's good to stay in good standing with your neighbors.

Or something. I don't know...I'm tired.
